Giving to the Annual Appeal makes everything at Parkside possible. Your gifts to the Annual Appeal support the ability for every classroom to have two full-time teachers; they support our art, music and drama programs; they allow us to offer yoga to our students; they enable us to house services such as occupational therapy and speech therapy under one roof; they enhance our library collections; they allow Parkside to make no financial demands on any family by allowing children of all socio-economic backgrounds to attend school here. Parkside is proud of the commitment demonstrated each year by so many current families, alumni families, grandparents and friends through gifts to Parkside's Annual Appeal.

Each year since our founding, the cost of providing a Parkside education exceeds our tuition revenue received from the State of New York. Because we believe all of the services offered by Parkside are a necessary part of your child's curriculum we continue to stand by our decision not to cut any of our programs because of the lack of state funding. The current gap between Parkside's state funding and the actual cost of a Parkside education is $10,000 per student and continues to grow every year, as the cost of education rises. Gifts to the Annual Appeal provide the unrestricted dollars that Parkside needs to balance its budget and cover the difference between state funding and the cost of an actual Parkside education.

Gifts to Parkside's Annual Appeal support:

A low student/faculty ratio (5:1)

An individually designed curriculum for each student

A team of professionals that are qualified to work with each student

Participation in Parkside's Annual Appeal is an important part of each family's Parkside experience. We ask everyone in the Parkside community to consider a gift to Parkside's Annual Appeal, regardless of the size of each gift. Gifts of all sizes make a difference, and participation is a key factor reviewed by corporations and foundations when making grants to Parkside.

The goal for the 2006-2007 Annual Appeal is $450,000.

Parkside's fiscal year ends June 30 each year.
