UNDERSTANDING M-RAP
Join us for a parent workshop introducing M-RAP (Multisensory Reading at Parkside), Parkside’s approach to building strong foundational reading skills.
We’ll take you inside the way reading is taught at Parkside and explain how our approach integrates what children see, hear, say, and feel as they learn to connect speech sounds with print. Parents will learn why we place particular emphasis on vowel sounds, mouth position, continuous phonation, and the contrast between sounds, and how these strategies support children who may struggle with traditional approaches to decoding.
We’ll also walk through the M-RAP phases, demonstrate some of the language and techniques your child may be using at school, and share practical ways you can reinforce reading skills at home—without turning home into another classroom.
Our goal is for parents to leave with a clearer understanding of how their child is learning to read, why we teach reading the way we do, and how school and home can work together to build skill, confidence, and a growing identity as a reader.
All interested parents are encouraged to attend! Please RSVP below!
