The Parkside Annual Fund
Gifts to the Annual Fund make everything at Parkside possible. The Annual Fund supports our ability for every classroom to have two full-time teachers. It supports our art, music and drama programs. It allows us to offer yoga to our students, and to house occupational therapy and speech therapy services under one roof. It enhances our library collections, and provides the resources needed for field trips and experiential learning. The Annual Fund allows Parkside to remain a state-funded, tuition-free school.
LEADERSHIP GIVING LEVELS
Nearly 90% of the Annual Fund comes from the generosity of our leadership donors. Leadership gifts start at $2,500 and we ask that everyone in our community consider making Parkside a philanthropic priority and be as generous as possible.
1986 Founders Club $50,000+
Leadership Circle $30,000+
Tuition Gap Partners $22,000+
Red Door Society $15,000+
Circle of Friends $5,000+
Classroom Patrons $2,500+
MAXIMIZING YOUR IMPACT
We ask everyone in our community to consider a gift to Parkside’s Annual Fund, and we are proud to have achieved 100% parent participation in the Annual Fund for 15 consecutive years. Gifts of any size are meaningful and there are several ways to maximize the impact of your gift.
Making regular recurring gifts to the Annual Fund is a great way to make a larger contribution without the stress of a single large payment. For instance, $250/month for the duration of the school year (September - June) would achieve a $2,500 Classroom Patron leadership gift to the Annual Fund.
CORPORATE MATChING GIFTS
Matching gifts significantly increase your level of support to Parkside. Many corporations will match employees’ gifts or their spouses’ gifts to their schools, often doubling or even tripling your gift. Contact your human resources department to learn about your company’s matching gift policies and procedures. Anthony Kapp, Director of Development, can provide assistance with forms or specific requests from your employer.
Since our founding, the cost of providing a Parkside education has exceeded our tuition revenue received from the State of New York. Because we believe all of the services offered by Parkside are essential to your child’s curriculum, we are steadfast in our decision not to cut any of our programs due to lack of state funding. The current gap between Parkside’s state funding and the actual cost of a Parkside education is approximately $22,000 per student, and the gap continues to grow every year as the cost of education continues to rise. Gifts to the Annual Fund provide the unrestricted dollars that Parkside needs to balance its budget and cover the difference between state funding and the cost of an actual Parkside education.
